Oticon Technologies & Features
Oticon is invested in developing innovative hearing aid technology. Oticon’s Center for Applied Audiology conducts extensive research and develops technologies that shape the hearing aids they produce. A few of their cutting edge technologies include:
Oticon developed the world’s first deep neural network (DNN) which is embedded in the processing chip. This gives the device access to 12 million real life sounds to give the brain more information. DNN provides a wide range of soundscapes and sound information it needs to then process and understand details of incoming sounds which actually mirrors how the brain naturally works. This technology is designed to increase speech understanding with less effort which is especially helpful in environments with background noise.
Tinnitus is one of the most common symptoms of hearing loss. This ringing or buzzing is like noise in one or both ears and takes a toll on communication and daily life. This feature helps alleviate tinnitus by playing various white noise sounds that you can choose (including soothing ocean-like sounds).
There are different settings that are customizable which can be pre-programmed to meet your hearing needs. Oticon provides a program specifically for listening to music. MyMusic is a program designed to deliver enhanced sound quality while listening to music - either live or streamed to your hearing aids. It uses an innovative strategy of amplifying and sound processing specifically tailored to music.
These technologies are among several innovative features that Oticon provides with their hearing aids.
